There’s a mythology behind UDL. The story goes that in the early 1960s two Australian beverage executives would regularly play golf together – One would bring the spirit, the other a mixer, so they could enjoy a cheeky mixed drink on the course.

Eventually, they decided there had to be an easier way and through that collaboration UDL and one of the world’s first premix brands was born.

While we can’t validate the story, to us it doesn’t get more Australian than inventing entirely new ways to make drinking easier. When it comes to innovating the alcohol industry, Aussies are basically Newton – Isaac, not Burt.
